Australia-based Northern Minerals (ASX:NTU) announced 13 additional tenements have been granted in the Northern Territory (NT), significantly expanding its Heavy Rare Earth Element (HREE) target area around the highly prospective Browns Range Dome.
Highlights:
- 4,842 square kilometers of new tenements granted in the Northern Territory within the Browns Range Dome area and extending southward toward the Tanami gold mine.
- Tenements include known xenotime mineralisation, with an established target from historic exploration including significant REE assays from rock chip samples (Boulder Ridge).
- Exploration program to also include first work program on the Toro Energy Joint Venture ground.
- Southern tenements highly prospective for gold leading to the investigation of opportunities for a gold rights divestment in order that the company maintain focus on HREE.
The company is now planning to step up its exploration activity across the newly granted area, which features an established HRE targe from historical exploration activity.
